In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate from Allahabad parliamentary seat, Shyama Charan Gupta had secured a comfortable lead of 10785 votes in Bara assembly segment where his nearest rival was SP’s Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh, then sitting MP.
